Roni Horn

I saw this Roni Horn show at Hauser and Wirth in London, I had only seen one of Roni Horn’s glass pieces before, but it was pink and much larger than these.  I liked these much more, partially because they were smaller and you could stand over them.  The transparency of the glass was incredible, you could see right through all that mass straight to the floor. That’s probably a big part of why I liked them so much, I’ve mentioned the idea of an invisible mass before in my own painting.  They really looked like liquid holding form while being contained by nothing. It almost felt like there might be some invisible skin holding them together, and preventing them from splashing out across the floor.
